Ayan/Upasana (he/they) is a trans illustrator and artist who divides his time between Goa and Munich. His work explores identity and personal narratives by using a visual remnant or evidence of the contexts he works with. He is especially drawn towards patterns which to them communicates complex truths about the past, present and future.

He has worked with organisations like UNESCO, UNGEI, Gates Philanthropic Partners, AWID, Asia Pacific Transgender Network, Point of View and others. He illustrated Skin Stories, an online zine about sexuality and disability, for almost four years and his work has been published in a book by the same name. Apart from this he has also illustrated 31 Adventures in Science: Women Scientists in India by Penguin India. He has also exhibited his work in Villa Magdalena, Hamburg.

He is also the Co-Founder, Director of Queer Arts and Action , (Former Amra Odbhuth Collective).
